MESSED UP SCHEDULES

MESSED UP SCHEDULES

Yup!  Her routine gets messed up at times too.  But usually by the end of a crazy, mixed-up day, she is happy with all she got to do after all.  I often see myself in her and am certain the Lord set up the Divine Appointment to get her, chuckling to Himself about what all I would experience with her!

MESSED UP SCHEDULES

MESSED UP SCHEDULES

Sometimes the path to where we need to go involves a “wrong” person or a dead end situation.  It seemed right, you moved forward and then it just falls away, leaving you perplexed as to what that was all about.   Since I ask the Lord directly for Divine Appointments and each day ask for His guidance and direction of my steps, I see in His timing He works things out.  Sometimes I have thought I had arrived at my destination only to find out it was merely a resting stop in the journey to where He wants me to go and the people He wants me connected with.  I have seen His Hand in His timing and His...

FORCED OUT OF OUR COMFORT ZONE

FORCED OUT OF OUR COMFORT ZONE

Movement of any reasonable sort feels empowering and shifts things.  I’m not advocating stupidity, being a fool about things, or being thoughtless and careless with other people, but people-pleasing or trying to restore relationships that God allowed or had a good reason to cut off and out of your life, sidetracks and drains you.  If this is an issue for you, make sure your heart is right then ask the Lord to restore any person back to your life He intends who is also right in their heart.  Then release it to Him and move on.  Focusing on your future, exploring next steps to discovering and developing your heart dream helps take away the inertia caused by losses and...

STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE

STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE

Sometimes we need to ask ourselves, “What is the hard thing I need to do in this situation or problem?”  And then we need to ask for His help and strategy and begin to plow ahead.  This may involve re-arrangements, diving in to re-organize, getting rid of things, putting a class, a meeting or an appointment that may be life changing on the schedule or clearing the schedule to get the nagging things done that are blocking progress.  It may require setting boundaries with people, or delegating tasks.  Whether small or large, moving forward on these things brings a feeling of hope and some control over your life.  When we refuse or are slow to get moving, sometimes God...

COMFORT ZONE

COMFORT ZONE

You have to be willing to risk to go after those heart visions and callings.  There is also great risk in remaining safe, stuck, paralyzed and clinging to stagnant, crumbling or decayed situations.  Clinging to any form of deadening safety and security-grasping brings sterility to life and bitterness to the soul and heart.  No one feels good about not developing and risking to be more than just mediocre.

COMFORT ZONE

COMFORT ZONE

Our deliverances and our answers to deep heart and soul cries come outside our comfort zone.  They insist we step out in faith.  Not blind faith nor faith in faith.  But in Someone.  The right Someone.  The Father has taken great risk in creating us with free will and dominion.  He has taken great risk and suffered for it in coming incarnate to create a way back to Him.  In turn, He asks us to choose risk for His sake also.  To hand over our fallen fleshly tendencies to Him to deal with and to let Him fill us and bring about His purpose and destiny for us, much larger and more satisfying than our limited vision and plans...

PAINTING WITH YELLOW

PAINTING WITH YELLOW

I adore yellow ~ in the right shades!  It is a tricky color when it comes to painting large areas.  I have experience with painting the outside of a large house and with numerous interior rooms.  With exteriors, choosing a lighter value of an appropriately toned down yellow is important so as to not end up with a garish result but still have a true yellow color and not a disappointing beige or tan that merely leans toward yellow.  Yellow is toned down by adding tiny touches of purple ~ it’s opposite on the color wheel called a complementary color, and/or tiny touches of of red to an already appropriate lighter value of the yellow until you get the...

SELF LOVE AND CONDEMNATION

February 28, 2016 ~ Condemnation is the bottom line under a whole lot of issues in our lives.  One may feel condemned from justifiable guilt as a result of wrong doing, transgressing God’s moral standards and being in rebellion toward Him.  We may know we are directly or indirectly disobeying God’s standards ~ acts of commission or omission, refusing relationship with Him and as a result are filled with a sense of guilt, unworthiness and condemnation.  Further, persistent resistance of the Holy Spirit’s call, conviction and warning can result in our consciences being seared and our becoming shameless and open to evil.  However if we have entered into relationship with Him and are seeking His daily will and guidance...

SELF LOVE AND A RELIGIOUS SPIRIT

February 25, 2016 ~ I’ve noticed something.  Some religious people have little to no self love or grace for themselves.  A religious spirit won’t allow self love or grace.  A religious spirit is focused on image, pride, religious busyness with various activities and works, possibly upholding cultural or societal systems and standards, but it is not about love and relationship.  The incarnate God was in constant conflict with the religious spirits while He walked the Earth.  A lack of self love and grace for oneself leads us to be self condemning which overspills onto others.  A religious spirit can also be judging others over standards not personally met.  Jesus made it clear that sin starts in the heart and...

SELF LOVE

February 21, 2016 ~ Self love is founded on a healthy and true understanding of God.  Recognizing and accepting His love and reconciliatory act through Christ Jesus to bring you back into relationship with Him establishes how valuable and special you are.  Realizing He breathed life into you to accomplish specific purposes through imparting seeds of talents, gifts and abilities for you to develop, enables you to believe you are someone of high value, worthy of self respect and self love.  You have the potential to affect many people and thus the world.  We usually come to Him with some mix of brokenness, injuries, addictions, moral failures, covetousness, insecurities, jealousy and greed.  We do not come cleaned up.  We...

FATHER’S LOVE

February 14, 2016 ~ When we invite Him in, The Father’s love fills us and we know we are not alone.  We can feel His presence.  We may feel lonely for human companionship at times, but His presence enables us to bear it.  Because of His presence we are not paralyzed by it but are able to be productive through it.  He carries and sustains us, revealing in tangible ways His love and presence.  Receiving the Father’s love enables us to transfer our deepest needs and longings to Him.  His desire is to fulfill them in His best way and best time.  We are enabled to set other’s free, not feeding off of them to meet our deep hungers. ...

FATHER’S LOVE

FATHER’S LOVE February 9, 2016 ~ This month love and relationship tend to be on our mind perhaps triggering sadness or longing along with gratitude or rich contentment.  Few people escape relational difficulties and losses in life.  Having a foundation and a way of handling losses is important to moving your life forward with hope and a degree of happiness.  There is a solid rock in the Father’s love.  One that doesn’t move though people around you may, threatening isolation, rejection and loss of hope.  To build any kind of decent relationship requires effort, time, mutual integrity, trust and a connection built on common interests and ideals.  It requires setting aside self interest and self preoccupation to consider others.  It...

OPEN DOORS and CLOSED DOORS

February 6, 2016 ~ Knowing there is a personal Heavenly Father who is close by, loves us and Who wants to train and prepare us, gives us comfort in the unsatisfying circumstances or the outright oppositional situations that something good will come of it when we have put our lives in Him.  In the book of Romans in the Bible there is a promise that all things must work together for their good for those who have placed their life in Him.  All things includes evil and closed doors.  And evil can close doors, but only because God allows it for His purposes.  His children have the promise of His wisdom, guidance and protection through the tricky and scary...

CLOSED DOORS and OPEN DOORS

February 2, 2016 ~ Sometimes we can see from a closed door we have been protected from something that could have derailed us or possibly destroyed us.  Sometimes we can’t see the purpose.  Closed doors are very frustrating especially when you encounter one after another.  This is why leaning into the Lord and being tuned to His voice is so crucial.  One needs to hear the prodding of the Holy Spirit to keep moving forward, that one is not on a dead-end road and that He indeed put that dream in your heart as part of His purpose for you, and therefore you are to persevere.  Side trips, down trips and backward steps apparently are a regular part of...

DOORS OF OPPORTUNITY

January 29, 2016 ~ I took my first canvas painting class in a Seniors 50+ community center many, many years prior to my recent launching the beginning of my art and writing career with my website and blog.  I was in my early forties.  I had a desire and a tiny dream I barely dared acknowledge as so many things made it look impossible.  Nonetheless, I took that small open door of opportunity.  If a door of opportunity doesn’t look like what we think is worthy of us and our time, we often can dismiss it.  Check again!  Little doors can lead to bigger connections and higher levels and because the opening can be small or subtle we can...

Word or Phrase from the Lord

Saturday, January 2, 2016 ~  Here is a little direction for the New Year! Listen for a Word or Phrase to be given to you from the Lord for 2016. Ask Him what this upcoming season is to be about. In doing so you may well find some inspiration from the Lord for this New Year. It will give you hope, assurance and some direction, even explanation for what occurs in the New Year. Suggest a Word or Phrase to Him and see if there is confirmation. Be still and let it alone. He will either confirm it or you will find yourself hearing and running across a new concept altogether and it will resonate and be meaningful to...
